Welcome to Tavern ("the Game", "we", "our", or "us"), available at waifutavern.xyz. We take your privacy seriously and believe in transparency regarding how data is collected, utilized, and safeguarded.

Tavern is built on an instant-play architecture designed to minimize personal data collection. We do not require registration or personal email addresses to play. The data we collect includes:

• Guest Session Tokens & Local Storage: An anonymous pseudorandom identifier stored locally on your device to persist your gameplay progress (unlocked tavern floors, waifu roster, gold balance, brewery stats).
• Gameplay State & Authoritative Telemetry: In-game progress metrics synchronized with our server to calculate offline earnings, handle catch-up formulas, validate leaderboards, and prevent client-side tampering.
• Chat Messages: Public messages voluntarily submitted in the in-game tavern chat channel.
• Technical Diagnostics & Server Logs: Standard HTTP server logs including truncated IP addresses, user-agent strings, referring URLs, request timestamps, and campaign attribution parameters (e.g., UTM tags).

2. How We Use Collected Information

We use information solely for legitimate operational and gameplay purposes:

• To maintain, run, and synchronize your browser gameplay session without requiring accounts.
• To perform mathematical catch-up calculations for offline idle brewery production.
• To operate real-time multiplayer features like tavern chat and leaderboard rankings.
• To protect server infrastructure against denial-of-service, automated bot abuse, and unauthorized exploitation.
• To display non-intrusive advertisements that help fund server infrastructure and ongoing development.

3. Cookies, Local Storage & Web Beacons

Tavern itself uses browser Local Storage (not tracking cookies) to remember your sound preferences, volume levels, and save games locally. However, third-party partners and advertising vendors (such as Google AdSense) may set and read cookies or web beacons on your browser to deliver relevant advertisements and measure ad performance.

4. Google AdSense & Third-Party Advertising Disclosures

We partner with Google AdSense to serve advertisements on our website. As required by Google AdSense policies and industry standards, please review the following notices:

7. Data Retention & Player Control

Your local gameplay state is stored indefinitely in your browser's Local Storage so you can pick up where you left off. You can wipe all locally stored game data and cookies at any time by:

1. Clearing your browser cache and local storage for waifutavern.xyz.
2. Using the in-game Settings panel to trigger a local save reset.

8. Children's Privacy

Tavern does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13 (or 16 in certain European jurisdictions). If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal data without parental consent, we will take immediate steps to delete such records.

9. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy & Cookie Policy periodically to reflect changes in our gameplay features, advertising partnerships, or legal requirements. When updates occur, the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document will be revised accordingly.
